Shubb capos emply a unique over center locking feature that is simple to use and delivers a positive grip. The Shubb capo design is adjustable to adapt to every neck thickness, and lets you determine how much compression you want to use in the grip. The apply a grip to the strings that is similar to that of your finger, forming a bar chord. This design has no adverse effects on tuning or intonation, and it enables you to easily change keys of tunes you arlready know.
The company was created in 1974 by Rick Shubb and Dave Coontz, born out of the desire to come up with a better capo than the cumbersom capos eavailable at that time. Their first capo was a banjo fifth string capo, which Rick Shubb used himself and sold when toured as a banjo player. The design of their capo caught on, and was soon adapted to other instruments.
Today, Shubb makes a wide variety of capos for acoustic and electric guitar, as well as banjo and mandolin. Their capos are known for their simplicity, reliability, and high quality.
