SIT stands for “Stay In Tune” strings, because that was their original objective, to make high quality guitar strings that sound and play great and also stay in tune, even under extremely hard use. To accomplish this goal, SIT developed new string winding methods, winding machines, and procedures to produce their strings, and they succeeded.
